Most bitches should have had their first season by two years old. If your bitch hasn’t, seek veterinary advice. On average, the ovarian cycle is seven months long, but between five and 10 months is considered normal. A bitch will experience on average two ovarian cycles a year. Bitches will cycle for their entire life. There is no equivalent to the human menopause.
Epilepsy is a disorder where repeated seizures occur due to abnormal activity in the brain. There are two types of epilepsy: primary or idiopathic epilepsy, and secondary epilepsy. Most seizures last between one and three minutes. If your dog hasn’t come out of a seizure within five minutes, or has several repeated seizures close together, then contact your vet immediately.
